JHSC Part I
All workplaces with 20 or more workers must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee established. At least one worker and one management representative of this committee must be certified members. The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development enforces this requirement in Ontario for all provincially regulated workplaces. The Part One Basic Certification provides an overall knowledge of the health and safety legislation that applies and is the same for all employment sectors. This course is CPO approved and runs over a three day in classroom format.
Pre-requisite for this course is the successful completion of the Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps and/or Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness in 5 Steps. For any additional information or clarification please contact Rebecca Sousa, Senior Administrative Assistant at rsousa@whss.ca.
